Situated on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park you don’t have to travel far from the Inn to find walks ranging from a gentle stroll before an excellent dinner through to a challenging hike through some of Scotland’s most beautiful Landscapes.

Aberdeenshire is the home of The ‘Castle Trail’. Castle trail consists of 14 of the world’s most unique castles from the rugged Kildrummy castle to the ‘fairytale’ Craigievar castle. Details of all the trails can be found here.

Alford is our closest town and is located about 8 miles (10-15 minutes) from the Inn. There you will find a supermarket, chemist, cash machines and a variety of independent shops.

Banchory sits elegantly on the banks of the salmon-rich river Dee. The High Street remains the main focal point with a variety of vibrant shops, garden centre, castle and restaurants.
